Duties and responsibilities
- Ensures the Commission’s compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Attends to litigation, conciliation, arbitration proceedings on the behalf of the Commission.
- Provides assistance in and ensures the Commission upholds and practises corporate governance principles and ethics
- Provides assistance in preparing board meetings and other board secretarial services as directed by the Corporate Services Manager.
- Handling consumer complaints.
- Offering legal advice to all the departments in the Commission.
Qualifications, experience & competencies
- Bachelor of Law (LLBs) Honours Degree
- Membership of the Law Society of Zimbabwe
- Minimum 2 years post graduate practicing in Commercial and Criminal Law.
- Must be a very competent writer of Minutes, reviewing and drafting legal documents
- Must have experience in case management, litigation, arbitration and liaising with external counsel.
- Proficiency in use of MS Office, particularly Word, Excel and Teams or similar.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and people skills.
- High levels of analytical skills.
- Self-starter with ability to work under pressure and beyond stipulated hours.
- Unquestionable integrity.
