
Accreditation of Consumer Protection Advocacy Groups
- In line with Section 7 of the Act, Consumer Protection Advocacy Groups, are supposed to be accredited by the Consumer Protection Commission. A consumer advocacy group is a group of people that promotes or represents the interests of all or a specific category of consumers generally; or one that engages in actions to promote and advance consumer interests.
- Therefore, all organisations that were advocating for the interest of consumers in the different sectors of the economy, such as transport, retail, among others will be encouraged to apply through the Consumer Protection Commission in compliance with the law.
